Strategic Simulations Inc. (SSI)

SSI made war-games, initially computerized versions of strategic military board games (Computer Bismarck, etc.). They quickly moved into sports simulations (Computer Quarterback, etc.), into more arcade-oriented games, and later into role playing/fantasy games (Questron, etc.).

There are a lot of these. A lot. I have a lot, but there are still a non-trivial number I don’t have. Here are the ones I have (or at least have some parts of).

There’s a great writeup by Jimmy Maher, The Digital Antiquarian: Opening the Gold Box, Part 1: Joel Billings and SSI.
